Bellarmine University is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Faculty in Communication and Digital Media to teach in-person courses in their M.A. in Communication (MAC) and M.S. in Digital Media (MSDM) programs. The MA in Communication offers practical skills and theoretical masteries of communication with a focus on qualitative and critical cultural approaches to media. The M.S. in Digital Media studies is primarily a project-based degree, with classes that address practical and theoretical issues in digital media. MAC and MSDM majors collaborate and share classes in the core curriculum.
In Spring 2023, the successful candidate will teach one 4 hour course, Strategic Communication, on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:45 PM. The course runs from 1/4 until 5/2.
Teaching Responsibilities include:
Holding all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner, demonstrating a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively
Familiarity with software used in courses, including Moodle course management software
Designing and evaluating assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students
Holding regular weekly office hours
Submitting student grades to the registrar by set deadlines
Administering numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses
Where applicable, teaching from an approved syllabus or working with the Division Chair to design an appropriate syllabus based on approved learning outcomes

Job Requirements:
MFA or PhD in Communication (or 10+ years of relevant experience)
Previous teaching experience at the graduate level preferred
