Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Budget - management
Assists the Dean with annual Responsibility Centered Management (RCM) College budget preparation using Axiom Software
Compiles financial reports for submission to Dean and/or Academic Affairs
Assists College units with annual budget preparation and management
Responsible for oversight and reconciliation of the CHHS Dean's Office indexes/accounts, procurement card activity, and College personnel indexes/accounts
Manages one-time funding sources in the College by tracking commitments, balancing accounts, and transferring funds
Attends Academic Affairs Budget Manager Meetings
Serves as liaison with the Provost's office concerning the college's budget matters
Trains new office staff on WKU Budget Processes, Quicken Financial Software, and provides support as needed
Budget - personnel
Assists the Dean with staffing; maintains data of budget vacancies, lapsed salaries, and salary differentials within budgeted positions
Processes and acts as Proxy for the Dean for Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs)
Serves as Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC) Administrator for the College
Provides support/guidance to hiring managers with hiring procedures, including use of Interview Exchange
Oversees the Graduate Assistant hiring process
Budget - grants
Supports active external grants in CHHS and provides support to units
Assists with budget development for sponsored programs
Assists the Faculty Fellow for Research and Creative Activities with internal grant accounting and management
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Tracks faculty for On-Demand, Dual Credit Courses, and Departmental Program Coordinators and coordinates supplemental pay, if warranted
Assists College Units with course/program fee requests
Assists the Dean, Senior Associate Dean, Associate Dean, Faculty Fellows and staff on budget related matters
Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
A minimum of 3 years of applicable budget experience
Experience with Quicken, QuickBooks, Axiom, or other Financial Software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $55,300 - $60,000
