The Executive Director of Training and Technical Assistance Services (T/TAS) fulfills duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Studies, in accordance with Federal, state and other grant guidelines.
The Executive Director of T/TAS provides leadership to and ensure the integration of all strands of the T/TAS Department, including the following: A training and technical assistance unit of content specialists who provide services to Head Start, Early Head Start and other early childhood programs nationwide; a Head Start/Early Head Start and child care unit; and a Kentucky- funded family child care project designed to create and support those programs across Kentucky. Specific tasks include:
1. Generate income and assist T/TAS staff to do so, through on-site and virtual conferences and training sessions, consulting and writing assignments, including grants and reports.
2. Enrich T/TAS' national reputation through active participation in national, regional and state organizations.
3. Design and implement a marketing plan through written and virtual media.
4. Offer training and technical assistance in an area of specialty (e.g., early childhood; family services; health; management; other related fields).
5. Engage the T/TAS staff in the development of a strategic plan, utilizing the T/TAS Mission and Vision and the WKU Mission and Vision and Strategic Plan.
6. Integrate the work of T/TAS into the initiatives of the College of Education and Behavioral Studies and WKU, and increase the visibility of T/TAS throughout the university.
7. Monitor the fiscal stability of all three department units and implement strategies to improve their fiscal health.
8. Supervise the Directors of the Head Start and Family Child Care Projects
NOTE: While desirable, it is not necessary for the holder of this position to re-locate to Bowling Green, KY
Job Requirements:
MS/MA degree or a comparable credential (LLD or JD)
Five years of successful management and training experience in a not-for-profit environment
Extensive knowledge of and experience in Head Start/Early Head Start and other early childhood settings
