Job Overview
The CRMO Education and Training Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of a comprehensive cancer clinical research training and education program for faculty and staff across LCCC's NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) consortium sites. Charged with ensuring cancer clinical research faculty and staff receive appropriate onboarding, initial role-specific training, and continuing education opportunities, they have an essential role in ensuring safe, effective, and compliant cancer clinical research across LCCC's consortium sites. A leader within the CRMO, the Education and Training Manager serves as a positive change agent to initiate and support progress toward achieving organizational cancer clinical research strategic goals across consortium sites.
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the CRMO Administrative Director, the CRMO Education and Training Manager works with subject matter experts within LCCC and CRMO Leadership, the Education and Training Manager requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of subject matter experts to develop and maintain a cancer clinical research education and training curriculum, including:
LCCC and CRMO Leadership, including the CRMO Administrative Director and CRMO Medical Director
Clinical Research Management Office (CRMO) members
Disease Group members: Principal Investigators, Physicians, Clinicians
Institutional department staff and committees: Institutional Review Board, Office of Research Quality Assurance, Clinical Research Operations Office, MedStar Health Research Institute, and additional MedStar departments and team members at MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC)
External Organizations: faculty/staff located at LCCC Consortium sites
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
6+ years of clinical trials experience - at least three (3) years of which includes cancer clinical research operations experience
2+ years of project management experience
Willingness and availability to perform light travel.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Working knowledge of regulations governing clinical research conduct and skill in applying applicable clinical research regulatory requirements - i.e., Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines)
Strong understanding of medical and research terminology and experience working in oncology therapeutic research
Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including proficient use of the English language
Effective presentation skills
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results within defined timelines
Proficiency with technology applications, including MS Office
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, and customers of the unit
Preferred qualifications
Registered Nurse actively licensed in the District of Columbia
Master's degree
Knowledge and/or experience with NCI CCSG expectations
SOCRA or ACRP certification
Supervisory experience
