The W. Fielding Rubel School of Business at Bellarmine University invites applications for a position in the Department of Accounting: Associate or Assistant Professor of Accounting or Instructor of Accounting. The Rubel School of Business is accredited by AACSB. Salaries are competitive and will be based on individual qualifications and rank. Summer courses, as needed, provide additional compensation.
Join a dedicated, student-centered faculty focused on the development and preparation of students for public and corporate careers as Certified Public Accountants. Bellarmine enjoys a reputation for high pass rates on the CPA exam; extensive graduate placement in Big 4, national, regional, and large local CPA firms; and active student participation in part-time corporate and public accounting internships. Our close proximity to downtown Louisville provides for close interaction and cooperation with the professional accounting community.
Associate or Assistant Professor - Teaching may emphasize Financial Accounting, Accounting Systems and Analytics, and/or Auditing. Scholarship will be consistent with AACSB expectations. Bellarmine encourages service engagement that contributes to our commitment to social justice.
Instructor of Accounting - The position will teach Principles of Financial Accounting and/or Principles of Managerial Accounting courses. Additional courses will depend on the experience and expertise of the instructor. The ability to teach upper division accounting coursework in any of the following areas is desirable: Financial, Accounting Systems and Analytics, and/or Auditing.
Job Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who are student centered and enjoys teaching, advising, and mentoring freshmen through fifth-year students. Teaching experience with strong student evaluations is expected. Associate or Assistant Professor - This position will be tenure track. An earned Doctorate in Accounting and evidence of continuing scholarly activity is required. Professional certification and public and/or corporate experience is desirable. An ABD Ph.D. student at final defense stage will be considered.
Instructor - This position will be a renewable multi-year contract. A Master's Degree in Accounting or a Masters with Emphasis in Accounting (minimum 18 credits) is required. Public and/or corporate experience is required. Professional certification is required. A Ph.D. student at the ABD stage is acceptable.
