Job Overview
The Senior Financial Planning and Operations Manager manages all aspects of finance and business operations toward increasing efficiency, processes improvement and development of best practices and resulting in optimal service delivery to Main Campus constituents. They receive assigned projects and perform any or all of the following activities:
Analyze and document business processes and recommend improvements
Provide position support
Develop detailed project plans for implementation
Serve as project manager through completion
The Senior Financial Planning and Operations Manager serves as the lead finance and business partner, executing all financial aspects of the assigned unit's daily operations, with responsibilities include oversight of financial operations, management of actual financial performance, review and oversight of expenditures, and other activities directed by the manager.
Work Interactions
The Provost Finance and Business Operations Team, reporting to the Chief Business Officer for Main Campus, provides guidance and supports in the Finance and HCM operations to stakeholders across Georgetown's Main Campus. A valued internal finance and operations resource, the group possesses skills and expertise in financial analysis, business planning and operations that are leveraged for a wide-variety of needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or finance and accounting.
At least 5 years of proven experience in any combination of finance and business operations, business process analysis, project management and team leadership - in particular, leading cross-functional matrix teams
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous complex projects
Experience in data analysis, benchmarking research, exploring creative solutions, leading change management efforts, and fostering collaboration
Solid analytical skills with the ability to think strategically
Strong time management, organizational, planning and multitasking skills
Ability to independently manage a dynamic portfolio initiative
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Strong MS Excel, process mapping, presentation and word processor skills
Knowledge of higher-education administration processes, practices and systems preferred
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days on campus; 3 days telework). Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
