Reporting to the Help Desk Manager, the Campus Technology Trainer will be responsible for the creation and delivery of training and development programs to all levels of end users and IT professionals. This includes technical training, train-the-trainer training, and self-serve training resources, in multiple modalities. The trainer will focus on common campus technologies and applications including the Microsoft365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, etc.), Cybersecurity best practices, and general operating system use.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver technical training workshops (in multiple modalities - in-person, online and hybrid) on common campus technology and applications. Schedule classes, promote course offerings to campus, perform assessments, and adjust training as needed.
• Support the development and delivery of training on specialized topics by other subject matter experts in the ITS department. Advise facilitators on adult learning and technical training best practices; schedule, promote, assess and improve trainings as needed.
• Conduct individual training consultations with application end users; Respond to user training needs via ticketing system, email, phone and in-person.
• Perform training needs assessments by working closely with both ITS and campus colleagues to understand system and training needs for supported applications.
• Work with ITS colleagues to develop, review and update documentation and training materials for custom and packaged applications, using a variety of mediums as needed.
• Manage, promote and assess the usage of LinkedIn Learning on campus, in collaboration with constituents across campus.
• Keep current with our supported technology. Learn about new services, offerings, and functionality and makes recommendations on how the software could be utilized and implemented within departments. Review vendor release notices to learn of new features; test, document and promote the new functionality.  
• Collaborate with other ITS colleagues on other promotional and training projects from ITS including the departmental website, monthly newsletter, campus communication, LinkedIn Learning and social media.

• A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in technology training, adult education, facilitation or instructional design.
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft365 (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, etc.); Demonstrated fluency in both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.
• Good understanding of cyber security best-practices, computer and cloud security principles
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent presentation skills; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate technical information to a nontechnical audience in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills (including with technical peers).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; able to set priorities, adapt to changing priorities and work concurrently on multiple tasks and projects; ability to communicate progress/problems to appropriate personnel effectively.  
• May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
• Prior experience working with and contributing to a diverse workplace with the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents on campus.
• Possess a high degree of integrity relative to computer security and the confidentiality of information.
• Maintain an established work schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends on an as-needed basis.
• The ideal candidate may also have experience in some or all of the following; 
  • Working in a Higher Education environment
  • Wordpress (or other content management system)
  • Creating accessible materials and trainings
  • Has obtained certificates in training design and delivery, facilitation, instructional design, accessibility or performance management
  • Has obtained certificates in Microsoft365 products
